Error when opening FCPXML

The most common reason for an error message to show up and not proceed to the Final Cut Timeline is because Final Cut can't find where the source video / audio file is located.

When TimeBolt generates the FCPXML file, it includes the path to the original file in it.

Errors then can occur if,

  1. The location of the source file is changed.
  2. Most commonly, the source file path contains special characters like ()%!&#_ etc.

Both these reasons can cause Final Cut to not find the source file, leading to errors.
