Issues with Variable Frame Rate Files
TimeBolt doesn't support Variable Frame Rate (VFR) files as they can cause a host of issue like (and not limited to),
- Video Preview Not Playing / Lagging.
- Timecodes out of sync in exported video.
- Timecodes out of sync in XML, FCPXML files.
- Timecodes out of sync with Timelines edited with Premiere Pro Extension or Davinci Resolve Integration.
To confirm if a file is actually VFR, you can use the Variable Frame Rate Detector within TimeBolt in the menu bar under Tools > Variable Frame Rate Detector.
This tool will analyze your file, confirm if it's VFR and give you an option to re-encode and fix your file.
You can also use Handbrake, Premiere Pro etc. to re-encode your file to Constant Frame Rate.
